Specific Considerations
Altitude Variation: Nepal's diverse topography means weather
can change dramatically with altitude. Always check specific forecasts
for your destination.
Monsoon Season: While challenging for some activities,
the monsoon brings lush greenery and vibrant landscapes. Trekking can be
difficult due to slippery trails and leeches, but some areas remain accessible.
Air Quality: During dry seasons, particularly in winter,
air quality in urban areas like Kathmandu can be poor due to dust and pollution.
Hiking in Monsoon Season
During the monsoon season, many trekking trails can become challenging
due to heavy rains, landslides, and leeches. However, some
lower-altitude treks and areas like the Annapurna foothills can still be
rewarding with proper gear. Waterfalls are at their most spectacular,
and the landscapes are incredibly lush and green. It's crucial to be
prepared for wet conditions, carry appropriate rain gear, and consult
local guides for trail conditions.
